Date Claimer - Chaplaincy Dinner
Chaplaincy is an important strategy of our church into reaching our local community. The building hope dinner is an important part of this ministry in sharing the wonderful work that is being achieved in our local schools and also an opportunity to raise funds, for the financial shortfall between government funding and real cost. Please consider attending the dinner on the 3rd June by putting this date in your calendar.
A/C In Church manse
The air conditioner in the manse is on its final legs. This will be replaced by April.
Sermon Notes Journal
I have been asked about providing information on our weekly sermons to take notes with. The way I work can make this hard, as sometimes I change the sermon while in the Pulpit.
What I recommend is a Sermon Journal. Now you can just use an excise book to save money. But there are annual Journals that can be purchased. If people in the church would like me to order you one, Just let me know, and I order them from Koorong, there approx $10

FYI - Family Values and Politics event
You are invited to attend an important meeting to discuss Faith, Family Values and Politics at a private residence at Gordon Park on Monday 25 March at 7 pm. And can you please invite your friends or family with conservative values to come with you?
Following the recent legalisation by the Queensland Labor Government of abortion to birth for any reason, these meetings, which are co-hosted by Cherish Life Queensland, Australian Family Association and Queensland Conservatives (no connection to Australian Conservatives), are being held for all those with a heart for women and the unborn to find out how easy it is to really make a difference!
Please join us at this strategic information session to hear about significant issues facing Queensland and to learn about how you and your family can do something about it!
There will be two guest speakers, with the discussion focusing on how we can get our state and country moving in the right direction again.
This will be an invitation-only meeting for conservatives to attend. BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL. There is NO cost. See below.
Monday, 25 March 2019
7 pm to 8:30 pm
18 Goulburn Street
Gordon Park 4031
TO BOOK, click here
Come along to this important event to find out how you can have your voice heard and make a difference.
You may forward this email to any like-minded friends and family, as long as they share your conservative values, so they can attend with you. IT IS TIME FOR ACTION!
N.B. Queensland Conservatives is a non-profit association of volunteers which shows those who support conservative and family values how to be effective and make a real difference. It is not a political party and has no connection with Cory Bernardi’s Australian Conservatives. For more information, please contact Alan Baker, email firstname.lastname@example.org, mobile 0412 265 157.

Mission News - Gary and Ruth Weston - News
This is a big step for us and we feel like babies again, more dependent on God than ever, more in need of your prayer than ever.
Thank you for praying about our future. By faith we are stepping out and changing fields. After 32 years of working on the Japan field we believe God is moving us on to serve Him on the Diaspora Returnees Field. (DRM)
There are 5,000 Japanese born residents living in Brisbane. Add to that tourists and students. That's a lot of Japanese. They are more open to consider Christianity than when they were in Japan. We'll be the first OMF missionaries specifically reaching out to them in Brisbane. And we don't even have to move out of Chez Clay!
Ruth and I have just completed OMF's foundation course: "Culture Values and Distance" (check out "Thriving Turtles"). Originally designed with China in mind, most of it applied to Japan as well. It was an online course. That in itself was a pioneering experience for us.
Can you picture the Japanese people here in Brisbane discipled and building up the body of Christ here and in Japan? That's what we would love to see happen. We think God would too!
We need: 1. New field (DRM) welcome 2. Previous field (Japan) clearance 3. Homeside (Oz) clearance 4. Medical clearance and 5. Financial clearance.
Pray on please. Out of these, already God has given us ........
New Field Welcome
We had a 3 continent conference video interview with the leadership team of the Diaspora Returnees field.....waited a week...... then heard ..... we were ... (fanfare please!) ACCEPTED!
As of this prayer letter, we welcome you too (!) to come explore with us what this is all going to mean. We're pioneering. God's going to have to carry us. It's going to take a lot of prayer.
I wish I didn't have to say this, because I'd much rather give you good news, but we've had a big medical setback. Please, please pray!
We have news from our missionaries and church planters.
Please see church notice board for more information.
(Cant post the information on the Web)
TV and Internet
Did you know that we have installed a new TV, DVD player and Internet access in the Church "Shed". This will be used for Kids rock, Youth Programs and Training courses.
Eventually this will be moved to our new building.
