Clayfield Baptist Church Prayer Calendar
18th August to 24th August 2008

For Meditation

  • “How great is our God. Sing with me – ‘How great, how great is our God’”

Monday 18th

  • From GiA – Pray for the situation that is escalating in Georgia; for the families & children trapped in the fighting; for Mikheil Saakashvili, President of Georgia, & for Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, that God will give them wisdom to resolve this conflict. Pray for the protection of the churches in the area & that they will have opportunities to share about Jesus.

Tuesday 19th

  • Pray for all who endeavour to bring peace between nations, ethnic groups, diverse interest groups & individuals – worldwide people long for peace; for those who know Jesus to testify to the true inner peace He brings – from which all other peace flows; for the Lord’s leading in how He wants each of us to share His peace today, here & now.

Wednesday 20th

  • Pray for those who have ongoing ill health or personal concerns – in your own or our church family, neighbours & friends; for the Lord’s wisdom in the best ways to be helpful & to be sensitive to people’s individual needs & ways.

Thursday 21st

  • Pray particularly for Susie (in England) & for her friend’s daughter – Katy – who is seriously ill; for funding, access to specialist health care & compassionate support to negotiate red-tape issues; for healing for Katy; for the assurance of God’s faithfulness & love & to sustain Katy, her mum, Susie & all who are going through this time with her.

Friday 22nd

  • Orana asks we join in praise for the successful ‘Sponsor-a-bed & Appeal’ in July – for the current & new bed sponsors who gave great support; praise, too, that New Hope has had full capacity over the past weeks & that the young people there are moving forward.

Saturday 23rd

  • Pray for chaplains visiting correctional centres today – David & John at Borallon, Barry at Capricornia, John at Maryborough, Kathy at Helena Jones, Debbie at Wolston & Hugh, Roger, Hil & Arthur at Woodford – as they make new relationships & strengthen others with people who are estranged from families & community; for the Lord’s insight & understanding to guide their ministries.

Sunday 24th

  • Pray for our own fellowship & our deacons in ongoing meetings & deliberations with regard to our pastor; that, as doors open & close, we trust in the Lord’s leading & keeping. Praise for His ministry to us through those who bring us His word each week; for visitors He brings & who share this blessing with us.
